At the end of last year, Sofitel Minneapolis hosted a beautiful tasting event with wine pairings. It was an honor to photograph each course. (Rumor has it one or more of the images from that night will be used on their new menus - pretty cool!)

BeEvents is a talented and inspiring - and hard working! - creative strategy and design company. It's been a pleasure to sneak in just before an event begins to capture the beautiful environment for them. Here are a few favorites from two different events, first at Aria, and then another at The Depot Minneapolis.
I'm a particular fan of photographing headshots, and should narrow down exactly why... perhaps it's that such small movements make big differences so I really can help to bring the best side out of someone. Perhaps it's that an ideal headshot engages the viewer, tells you something about the person - or makes you want to get to know them (and hire them, of course). Or maybe it's just that these clients are invested in the process and old enough to listen :) - but probably a combination of these reasons and more! Moving on...
Anna's headshots took place at my house in a quick get-down-to-business hour. She needed them for new position as a wedding officiant with Afforrable I Do's! Sarah & Kylie's were at the Guthrie Theater while I'm transitioning studios (thanks ladies!) but hopefully it isn't TOO obvious as these background could be found many places in Minneapolis. Beautiful women, all!
When I bought my house last summer, it "needed" a LOT of work - that I'm not capable of. My contractor, owner of Fine Line Carpentry, LLC. (plug, plug) introduced me to Jed, owner of Accent Ceramics, LLC (plug) who did the amazing tile work in my new kitchen and bathroom. I just happened to be admiring it one day and Jed called that afternoon to ask about family portraits and headshots for his wife, a realtor. Absolutely I'll do it, I said! So I got to meet the whole family - what an awesome team - with the two cutest, sweetest little girls! They've been so fun to work with and I'm happy to share a peek into their family studio session. (And it just goes to show you, referrals and business can come from anywhere - yay for referrals and word-of-mouth! But on to the sweetness...)
Here they are - the Ireland images! Or a handful of them at least. It was an amazing trip and I loved putting all these pieces together to encompass it all! More individual images will be on the website (and likely my walls) soon. :)
