Minnesota Black Women Lawyers Network's Lena O. Smith Recognition Luncheon | McNamara Alumni Center

The Minnesota Black Women Lawyers Network hosted their annual Lena O. Smith Recognition Luncheon at McNamara Alumni Center, which honors the first black woman admitted to practice law in Minnesota.  The keynote speaker was Professor Lani Guinier, who did a some media interviews, her presentation, and then signed copies of her latest book The Tyranny of the Meritocracy.

3.28.15 Northern Lights Rare Beer Fest | Bon Appetit | St. Paul Event Photographer

A beer-filled blog post to start your Friday!  Here are a few highlights from the Northern Lights Rare Beer Fest held at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul this past spring.  Bon Appetit's on site chef created some beer-inspired dishes, and local breweries shared samples and conversation.  It was a busy, buzzing event - and so many beards!  Ah, Minnesota... :)

Kat & Jason | Wooddale Lutheran Church & Minnesota Valley Country Club

Kat & Jason are married!  I met Kat years and years ago though a venue/work relationship, so it was such a treat to be able to work with her and Jason on their image collection.  Kat was, like I am, on both sides of the wedding industry as a wedding professional AND a bride, and she just totally "gets it."  Plus she and this really cool guy Jason wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, so win-win-win. :)

We started with Getting Ready photos at the Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington hotel, where we also did the First Sight.  Kat & Jason's ceremony was at Wooddale Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park, followed by a Minnesota Valley Country Club reception.  Blessed with an awesome wedding party, lovely weather, beer mugs made of ice, golf socks (is there a name for these?), and this totally in-love and super-fun couple, it was a great day.  Shout out to my wonderful 2nd shooter Tricia, assistant Lindie, and the other vendors for their hard work too! 

Ahh, such love... congrats you two!
