The Star Awards is an opportunity for event professional to be nominated and recognized for the very hard and very impressive work they do all year. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees (including my fella Tim McVean for 2 awards for AVEX).
Boy, do event professionals know how to party! With so many generous business contributing their services - from AV to decor to flowers to food to... um... photography :) and much more, the Roy was definitely "rocked." The band PopROCKS was ah-mazing and so fun. Also present were the Minnesota RollerGirls, live snakes, (temporary) tatoo artists, an oxygen bar, and an after-party fit for rock stars. We had a great time and were so happy to contribute! Enjoy!
Oh, one more interesting tid bit: I photographed the first ever MN Star Awards those short seven years ago as a student at Augsburg College. Yep - carried around my bags of film, one camera, two lenses, and whole stomach of nerves. But everyone starts somewhere and it was doubly exciting to do it again in 2011 - my time does fly! :)
